  • Inspiration: Seeing first-hand how speech therapists made a difference in the lives of children, I knew that’s what I was called to do as well.
  • Favorite Part About Being an SLPA: I absolutely love working with elementary school students and witnessing their growth.
  • Hobbies: Paddle Boarding, Enjoying the Beach, & Spending Time with my Two Sons

  • Inspiration: As a mother of a child who was a late talker, I realized how much I wanted to assist those who had difficulties with communicating.
  • Favorite Part About Being an SLPA: Continuously working with a child and one day something just "clicks." They start to demonstrate those skills that you've both worked so hard towards. It's super rewarding!
  • Hobbies: Riding on my motorcycle, playing video games, watching movies/shows, and exploring new restaurants

  • Inspiration: Someone close to me received speech therapy and that’s how I got to know the career. I instantly fell in love with it!
  • Favorite Part About Being an SLPA: Working with elementary school students!
  • Hobbies: Practicing Yoga & Spending Time with my Daughter

  • College: University of Redlands
  • Inspiration: I was inspired by the wide variety this field has to offer and my ability to have a lasting impact on others.
  • Favorite Part About Being an SLPA: The endless amount of joy that children bring.
  • Hobbies: Watching TV with my cat, visiting my niece and nephew, and grabbing dinner with friends

  • Inspiration: I became a speech therapist to understand more about speech and language disorders and to better help families understand them as well.
  • Favorite Part About Being an SLPA: Getting clients excited to show up to every session and getting a chance to see their growth.
  • Hobbies: Hiking, long distance running, and watching movies with my 3 dogs

  • Inspiration: Finding a career that combined my passion for helping others, teaching, and communication felt like the perfect fit for me.

Jessica Zepeda, SLPA

  • Inspiration: I was previously an ABA therapist and quickly realized Speech was my calling. I knew I could integrate my experience in ABA with Speech and truly make a difference.
  • Favorite Part About Being an SLPA: Seeing my clients thrive and build confidence when they're provided the tools and guidance for growth in communication.
  • Hobbies: Going to Disneyland and spending time with my dogs

Dr. Toya Foggie, SLP (Supervisor)

  • Hometown: Gastonia, NC
  • College: South Carolina State University, Medical University of South Carolina, and Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions
  • Inspiration: It was a speech-language pathologist that aided in my grandfather's recovery after his laryngeal cancer diagnosis and surgery. He had swallowing and voice therapy that drastically improved his quality of life. That was my introduction to the field and a profession that I absolutely love.
  • Favorite Part About Being an SLPA: Being able to help and serve others. I also love the variety in age groups and settings that Speech Pathology provides. There's never a dull moment!
  • Hobbies: Spending time with my husband and our two sons, reading, watching movies, and attending live musical events

  • Inspiration: At FSU, I was required to minor in different areas than my major. Upon my research, I stumbled across speech pathology and saw that I could take sign language classes ... I was sold!
  • Favorite Part About Being an SLPA: Seeing each client's progress and growth over time.
  • Hobbies: Crafting, going out for brunch, and dancing
